Taro quickstart
Create your first project, plan a sprint, and see project health in Taro.
This guide walks you from a new workspace to a planned sprint with AI-assisted tasks, so you can see Taro's first value quickly.
Before you start
You need a WorksBuddy account and a Taro workspace. The Free plan covers 1 workspace, unlimited projects, and up to 2 members. AI features (smart task creation, risk prediction, workload balance, and completion forecasts) require the Pro plan, available as a 14-day free trial with no credit card.
Steps
Create a project
Start a new project with its dates, priority, and members. Assign member roles (viewer, contributor, or owner) so the right people can edit and track work.
Add tasks from plain language
Describe what needs to happen in plain English. Taro's smart task creation generates a structured task with a title, description, priority, due date, and a suggested assignee.
Plan a sprint
Group tasks into a sprint and use AI sprint workload balancing to spread work evenly. Set dependencies between tasks so scheduling stays consistent.
Track progress
Switch between List, Kanban, Calendar, Gantt, Bug Tracker, and custom views. Drag tasks across Kanban columns to update status, and use time tracking to compare actual versus estimated hours.
Review project health
Open the dashboard for sprint burndown, velocity trends, and a real-time health score. Check risk alerts for overdue tasks, deadline risk, and bottlenecks, then act on Taro's recommendations.
