Gamification and Leaderboards
Points, achievement badges, daily streaks, and time-windowed leaderboards in Taro.
Gamification and Leaderboards award XP on task completion, unlock achievement badges across four rarity tiers, track daily streaks with streak freeze, and rank the organization on weekly, monthly, and all-time leaderboards.
How it works
The gamification layer runs automatically beneath every task. Completing a task awards base XP by priority (Low 10, Medium 20, High 30, Urgent 50), plus bonuses for finishing before the due date (+15), completing within 10 percent of a time estimate (+10), and a perfect sprint clear (+100). Points appear in the user profile and leaderboard within seconds via real-time updates. Badges unlock automatically as users cross thresholds, with rarity rising from Common to Legendary. Daily streaks count consecutive days with at least one completed task, and a streak freeze pauses the counter for a day without breaking the chain. Gamification is an opt-in workspace feature that org admins enable or disable for everyone at once.
Key capabilities
- XP awarded per task by priority, with configurable base values and behavior-based bonuses.
- Four badge rarity tiers (Common, Uncommon, Rare, Legendary) with automatic threshold-based unlocks.
- Milestone rewards that grant bonus XP and a badge at moments such as a 30-day streak or perfect sprint clear.
- Daily streak tracking with a configurable monthly freeze allowance (default 2), where freezes preserve but do not extend a streak.
- Org-wide leaderboard across weekly, monthly, and all-time windows, with each user's own rank highlighted.
- Independent reset schedules: weekly resets Monday 00:00, monthly resets on the first of the month, all-time never resets. History is preserved.
- Leaderboard visibility settings: everyone, leads only, or private.

Analytics Dashboards
XP is awarded on completion and is not reversed if a task is later reopened or cancelled. Suspicious complete-then-cancel patterns are flagged for org admin review in the gamification audit log.
