Sprint and Agile

Run the full sprint lifecycle with backlog planning, live burndown, velocity tracking, AI workload balancing, completion prediction, and task carryover.

Sprint and Agile covers the full sprint lifecycle, from planning out of the backlog through live burndown and velocity tracking to closing the sprint and carrying unfinished tasks forward.

How it works

Sprint planning pulls directly from the backlog, already ranked by Auto Prioritization. You set the sprint name, goal, and dates, then drag tasks in while TARO shows per-member capacity signals. During the active sprint, TARO generates a live burndown chart and runs two AI operations continuously: workload balancing and completion prediction. When you close a sprint, every unfinished task is presented with three options, and the closed sprint's full data is preserved for retrospectives and velocity history.

Key capabilities

  • Backlog-driven planning with per-member capacity signals as tasks are added.
  • Live burndown chart with an ideal line set at sprint start and an actual line that updates on every task completion, marking zero-completion days as flat spots.
  • Velocity tracking per team, project, and member, recorded at sprint close and shown as a sprint-by-sprint trend.
  • AI workload balancing during the sprint that flags overloaded members and names the task, current owner, suggested owner, and reason; no task moves without lead approval.
  • Completion prediction combining current velocity, known blockers, and mid-sprint scope additions into a predicted close date with a confidence level (80 to 90% for teams with 8+ sprints, 60 to 70% for newer teams).
  • Sprint close that presents each unfinished task with carry forward, move to backlog, or cancel options, applied per task.
  • Carried-over tasks placed at the top of the next backlog with a label.
  • Full sprint history preserved, including burndown shape, velocity, completion rate, carryover count, and blocker history.
  • Support for multiple concurrent sprints across projects, with a cross-sprint summary and external dependency flagging.

Tips

Completion prediction runs at any point in the sprint, not just at the end. Checking confidence on day 3 gives you time to act, whereas a low confidence reading on day 8 leaves little room.
