AI Mention Simulator

Test a draft against four AI engines before publishing to see whether it gets quoted and which competitor wins where it does not.

The AI Mention Simulator runs a draft through ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Gemini with the five most relevant reader questions, then reports whether the page was quoted, which passage was used, and which competitor was picked instead.

How it works

Pick any draft in Ranko, including articles from Article Writer, pages from Page Refresher, imported content, or items scheduled on the 90 Day Calendar, and start a simulation. Ranko asks each of the five questions to each engine in a fresh, independent session with no framing that would bias the engine toward your page. That produces twenty live runs per article. For every run the simulator records whether your page was quoted, the exact passage lifted if it was, and the competitor domain and page chosen if it was not. You then refine the relevant sections and re-simulate as many times as needed before publishing.

Key capabilities

  • Live runs against ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Gemini, run independently rather than averaged.
  • Five questions per article, sourced from the AI Question Mining stream, with the option to add custom questions.
  • Quoted or not detection for every engine and question.
  • Exact quoted passage identification when the page is cited.
  • Competitor picked detection, including the rival domain, page, and passage when your page is not cited.
  • Unlimited refine and re-simulate loop before publishing.
  • Side-by-side multi-variation simulation to compare draft versions.

Tips

Use the AI Mention Simulator alongside Opportunity Score. Opportunity Score measures how open a topic is, while the simulator measures whether your specific draft will win that topic.
