Competitor Tracking
Tracks which competitors AI assistants cite, on which questions and how often, and surfaces openings worth pursuing.
Competitor Tracking lets you add up to ten competitor domains and shows which competitor is cited by which AI assistant, on which exact question, and how often, then highlights the openings where your content can win.
How it works
You add up to ten competitor domains per workspace. For every topic in the workspace, Ranko runs ongoing background checks across ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Gemini and records each time a competitor domain is cited. Citations flow into a per-question, per-engine, per-competitor view with the page that was pulled and the citation frequency across the recent window. From this landscape, Ranko surfaces openings where coverage is fragmented or thin and flags crowded fights as ground to avoid. New competitor domains and leapfrog events are flagged when they appear.
Key capabilities
- Up to ten competitor domains per workspace, editable at any time, picked up as soon as they are added.
- Per-engine citation views across ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Gemini, tracked separately.
- Per-question citation detail showing the competitor, engine, exact question, and the page that was pulled.
- Citation frequency counts that separate consistent positions from occasional luck.
- Opening detection that surfaces questions with weak or fragmented competitor coverage, ranked by attractiveness.
- New competitor mention alerts when a new domain starts appearing in citations.
- Leapfrog alerts when a competitor overtakes you on a tracked question, with the question, engine, and competitor.
Tips
Competitor Tracking watches rival citations while Analytics Forge tracks your own. Used together, they show where and against whom you are winning or losing on each question.
