Originality Check

Scores every draft against the top web results and the internal library, then rewrites flagged sections until they pass.

Originality Check scores every draft against the top fifty web results and Ranko's full internal library, and automatically rewrites any section that crosses the similarity threshold until it passes.

How it works

For each draft, Ranko pulls the top fifty web results for the article's primary topic and also compares against its full internal library of customer articles to avoid cross-customer overlap. Each section is scored individually for similarity. When a section crosses the configurable threshold, Ranko rewrites just that section, preserving meaning, brand voice, and the underlying research while shifting the phrasing. It rescores and, if needed, rewrites again, looping until the section passes. If a passing version cannot be produced after a configurable maximum number of attempts, the loop escalates to the team with the closest passing version and the matched sources.

Key capabilities

  • Comparison against the top fifty web results for the article's primary topic.
  • Cross-check against Ranko's full internal library of customer articles.
  • Section-level similarity scoring rather than a whole-article average.
  • Automatic rewriting of flagged sections with meaning, voice, and research preserved.
  • Iterative rewrite-and-rescore loop that runs until each section passes.
  • A configurable similarity threshold that the team controls and can tighten or loosen.
  • Escalation to the team when a passing version cannot be produced after a set number of attempts.
  • A full audit trail recording before and after versions, scores at each step, and matched sources.

Tips

Teams in higher-risk categories such as legal, healthcare, and finance can tighten the threshold, while teams on topics with unavoidable consensus phrasing can loosen it slightly.
