Standalone is useful when the team shares just the proof of completion with auditors, lawyers, or counterparties who don't need the underlying contract content. Attached is useful when the contract and its certificate need to travel together as a single archive, particularly for record keeping or sending the complete package to the other party. Both options produce the same certificate, just in different distribution formats.
